What will I be doing?

Reservations Supervisor serving Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Reservations department, monitor and ensure accuracy of Reservations data through quality checks and guiding the Reservations Sales Agents. To assist Reservations Manager in monitoring Reservations Sales Agents Handles and handles guest complaints and assists reservations agents in problem solving techniques.

As Reservations Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting the Reservations department, whereby your role will include key responsibilities such as:

  • Overall look daily tasks and operations of the Reservations Team
  • Record requests for accommodation, including from Tour Operators, Travel Agents, OTAs or direct/FIT
  • Daily checks for entered reservations and bookings for their accuracy in rate codes, applied rates, promotions and special requests
  • Demonstrate teamwork by co-operating and assisting co-workers when necessary
  • Acquire a working knowledge of resort, in-house facilities and local information to respond to customer questions in these areas as required.
  • Keep up to date information about all available offers and promotions
  • Ensure that the Reservations Team are trained/informed and are aware of the resort Policies and Procedures.
  • Coaching Reservation Team on how to effectively upsell villas
  • Whenever required, handle difficult situations effectively and deal personally with any complaints or concerns from repeat, VIP or high-profile clients
  • Ensure that all special requests are handled appropriately by supervising the accuracy of all future reservations
  • Handle Private Island reservations
  • Keep the Front Office Manager fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance so prompt corrective active can be taken when appropriate
  • Ensure that the advance bookings correspondence check is completed
  • Pre-block all special requests, Repeater or VIP accommodation accurately
  • Keep Sales Department informed of group booking status.
  • Maximize room revenues through effective yield management and Forecast Meeting discussions
  • Communicate the availability charts to all the contracted partners on a weekly basis
  • Perform any task deemed necessary by the General Manager, Hotel Manager, Director of Commercial and Reservations Manager for the efficient running of the Commercial Department and the Resort in general

Education

  • Qualifications or courses relating to Customer Care, Reservations, and Revenue
  • Educated to College level with previous Reservations experience

Experience

  • Previous experience (minimum 3 years) of working in a similar role with a Luxury Resort/Hotel
  • Proven experience of working to and understanding key functions of Reservations department
  • Strong working knowledge of Opera Property Management System
  • Proficient in all Rooms Reservations procedures to be a resource when needed

Competencies

  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Word) and related software’s, and Opera
  • Demonstrates ability to interact effectively with various levels of management
  • Friendly demeanor, positive and enthusiastic attitude with strong customer focus and ability to work independently
