What will I be doing?

As Chef de Partie, you will utilise your creative flair and passion for food to ensure high quality food production for hotel outlets, which meets the standards expected by DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels. You will work closely with the Head Chef to manage the kitchen team and food production, in order to prepare the daily required food for various culinary operations within the hotel. As the Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Responsible for restaurant and food production across all meal periods, meetings and events and team member meals.
  • Be the Chef’s right hand by assisting in training the team and upholding food safety practices across the kitchen brigade.
  • Assist with ordering and holding team members accountable for stock rotation.
  • Assist to prepare menus and recipes for guests, meetings and events.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to order food quantities for the day, maximise the use of food produce, eliminate waste and obtain the best rate of return.
  • Regularly check that all kitchen equipment is clean and in good working order.
  • Ensure that all kitchen team members meet all hotel, hygiene and Work Health and Safety requirements.
  • Develop a positive relationship with guests, team members and contractors.

What are we looking for?

  • A minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • A current, valid, and relevant trade commercial cookery qualification.
  • Excellent planning, organising and time management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of kitchen equipment and is able to train staff in its use.
  • Knowledge of food safety systems.
  • Ability to prioritise and complete tasks on time.
