• Mechanic is concerned with consistently providing a high standard of operational efficiencies as well as maintaining all plant and equipment on Rangali Island property.

What will I be doing?

·To be flexible, responding quickly and positively to changing requirements including the performance of any tasks requested of you.

·To takes direction from and carry out any requests by management in conjunction with work.

·To supervise and assist the utilities coordinator in ensuringthat power generators are operated and maintained at the highest standards, to guarantee a continuous supply of energy for the resort and to ensure a reasonable life span for the units.

·To supervise and assist the utilities coordinator in ensuringthat the water plant and water treatment plant are operated, maintained and repaired to the highest possible standards, while keeping all related costs under control.

·Ensure that the water storage facilities are maintained to the highest possible standards , that water tests are done and accurate records kept of cleaning and maintenance.

·Ensure that the there is an adequate supply of fuel and re-order in a timely manner as not to disrupt the services.

·Responsible for the fuel filling process and to monitor to ensure that there is no fuel spillage, recording of the tank balance and for issuing of fuel reports.

·Ensure the fuel dispensing equipment are maintained to the highest possible fire safety standards.

·Ensure that there is adequate water storage and that there is no disruption in the water distribution.

·Ensure that the sea water intake pumps are serviced and maintained to the highest possible standards and there is always two standby fully serviced pumps.

·Responsible for the repair and maintenance ofthe incineration plant and to ensure its smooth running as not disrupt thewaste management operation.

·Controls and analyses on an on-going basis the cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene of all pools, Jacuzzi, saunas, and takes necessary action if needed. Keeps accurate records of maintenance and cleaning.

·Ensure that allsewer pump stations are inspected at regular intervals and the BOD and COD levels are regularly monitored.

·Ensure that the sludge from the waste water treatment plant is properly stored and disposal methods comply with the environmental sustainability standards.

·Oversees the safe and proper storage and disposal ofchemicals and containers, and maintains inventories.

·To assist the chief engineer in ensuring thecompliance of all areas with the environmental sustainability standards.

·Responsiblefor the maintenance of the fire fighting equipment.

·Assist the utilities coordinatorin the implementing ofa preventive maintenance programme for all facilities, and ensures that the programme is followed up and records kept.

·Responsible for the maintenance and smooth operation of theirrigation system.

·Responsible for the maintenance and good working condition of all boats and vehicles, including the sand barge.

·Assist with all environmental issues.

·Responsiblefor the order, storage, usage of all spare parts. Establishes a list of vital spare parts to be kept in store.

·Keeps all necessary records for inspection and/or audits from Hilton International and/or Tour Operators (according to FTO standards) or any other relevant 3rd party.

·Keeps a file with instruction manuals for all equipments.

·To keep abreast of industry trends and competition.

·To perform all tasks in a safe and tradesman-like manner.

·To assist Engineering staff members in the correct principles / Engineering procedures associated with the installation / repair of electrical equipmentassociated with the Hotel operation.

·To report any electrical works you feel may contravene the MEB standards or any other relevant codes or bylaws to the Chief Engineer or delegate

·Prioritize work as required to lessen guest discomfort.

·To be fully conversant with all Occupational Health and Safety, Fire and Evacuation procedures

·Actively contributes to fire safety standards - includes training, participation to drills.

·To be responsible in adheringto the safety standards given in material safety data sheets and equipment specifications sheets.

·To ensure all areas you are working in are left clean and tidy.

·To operate, install and maintain electronic or microprocessor controlled equipment to areas of the Hotel complex

·To ensure all engineering plant and equipment is clean and maintained to a high standard of operational efficiency and safety throughout the day.

·Report and fill out maintenance requests concerning breakages and or defective plant and equipment.

A Mechanic serving Hilton Brand hotels and vacations is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

• Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in Industrial/Commercial Projects
• Good all round practical trade skills inclusive fabrication, installation and maintenance
• Preferable apprentice time service candidate

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

• Hotels-Hospitals experience
